Een digitale baan is niets zonder een digitale centrale. De centrale zorgt voor de aansturing van de loc's, treinstellen en/of treinen, wissels en seinen op de baan. Een "centrale" (de naam zegt het al) is alles in één; deze heeft meestal twee (soms één) regeldraaiknoppen om twee treinen/locomotieven te bedienen.<br>
